To address the national shortage of lifeguards, Alma Swim Foundation offers scholarships to help individuals gain the training and certifications needed to become lifeguards. Our goal is to create more employment opportunities for skilled individuals who can keep our pools and beaches safe, especially in communities where lifeguard availability is low. By investing in future lifeguards, Alma Swim Foundation promotes water safety for all communities, and empowers individuals to take on life-saving leadership roles.
Lifeguard Training Scholarships
Every year more than 4,000 people lose their lives to drowning—around 11 lives every single day–with Black and African American children experiencing much higher rates than their white peers. Through Lifeguard Scholarships, we aim to provide greater protection around the water for those who need it most.
