We make learning to swim simple and affordable.
Swimming is awesome. But learning how to swim? That can be pretty intimidating, especially for people in our Black communities. At Alma Swim Foundation, we get it. And we’re here to make it as easy as possible for you to get in the water–and learn to love it.
Alma Swim Foundation will:
Find the right swim instructor and swim classes for you.
We work with a network of certified swimming instructors across Central Florida and can connect you to someone who fits your needs perfectly. Our instructors teach both children and adults, including individuals with special needs who may require more extensive swim instruction. However many lessons it takes, our goal is for aspiring swimmers to develop not only new skills, but confidence and a lifelong bond with the water.
Pay for your lessons with an Alma Swim Scholarship.
It typically takes around 20 hours or 8 weeks of lessons, and costs approximately $300 to teach one person to swim. That’s more than many people can afford–but the cost of not knowing how to swim could be much higher. Alma Swim Scholarships, offered to kids and adults in underserved communities, ensure that cost is never a barrier to learning water safety.
